Pheasants Forever tops $750,000 in fundraising for conservation work

The Otter Tail County chapter of Pheasants Forever will celebrate a banner year — having raised $750,000 in its 22-year history for area conservation projects — at its 23rd annual banquet Saturday at the Eagles Club in Fergus Falls.
Ninety-five percent of the money raised from the event, expected to top $12,000 this year, will stay in the local area, supporting pheasant habitat protection efforts and youth projects, according to chapter treasurer Larry Bethel.
In recognition of its achievement, and according to tradition, the Fergus Falls chapter will serve a pheasant dinner, Bethel said.
“We’ll have enough pheasants to feed 250 people,” he said. “That will fill up the Eagles pretty well, so I suggest people get there early. We’re going to have a little happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner and then the raffles.”
