Published Monday, April 16, 2007

Lowell Brenna

Lowell Brenna, a native of Pelican Rapids, has joined the staff of funeral professionals at Olson Funeral and Cremation, Fergus Falls. Brenna has been a licensed funeral director since 1986.

After high school he graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead and spent a year teaching in the Moorhead Public Schools. Another year at the University of Minnesota allowed him to complete his degree in Mortuary Science and for the next 20 years the Brennas lived, worked and raised their family in Staples.

In May 2006 he completed his Masters Degree at Luther Seminary in St. Paul with an emphasis on death and dying as well as end-of-life issues. The majority of his working hours in 2006 were spent providing spiritual care for several Hospice teams based out of central Minnesota.

Brenna and his wife, Loree, are parents of four children. The oldest three are moving their way through the college experience at campuses around Minnesota. Their youngest, and only daughter, is still in high school.

Throughout the years the Brennas have been involved in church and community activities revolving around the interests of their children. They look forward to becoming an involved part of the Fergus Falls community. Loree is an RN with a broad range of specialty certifications.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.
