Ottertail medical clinic gears up for summer season

As the Ottertail lakes area gears up for another influx of lake residents and tourists, Ottertail Area Medical Clinic is available to offer healthcare services for the entire family.
From routine X-rays and maternity care, to casting a broken bone, the medical staff provides quality care that's conveniently located in Ottertail.
“Our goal is to provide complete family healthcare to the people of Ottertail and the neighboring communities,” said Dr. MaryLee Legried, family practice physician and medical director at Ottertail Area Medical Clinic.
The clinic is located at the west entrance of Thumper Pond Golf Course in Ottertail.
The clinic offers routine X-rays, annual physicals for all ages, maternity care, infant and child exams, as well as urgent care for fractures, stitches and injuries. They also have an on-site lab.
If the need arises, medical staff will consult via “teleradiology” about an X-ray. Dr. Jerry McCullough, radiologist at Tri-County Hospital, is connected via videoconference to consult with staff at Ottertail Area Medical Clinic.
“Our teleradiology is wonderful technology at our fingertips,” said Dr. Legried. “If a patient has a fracture that needs further evaluation, we can put the X-ray on the teleradiology screen which projects the image back to Tri-County Hospital. The radiologist can oftentimes make an immediate evaluation, saving a patient a trip to the hospital.”
Ottertail Area Medical Clinic is staffed with three family practice physicians, Dr. Legried, Dr. Stephen Davis and Dr. Bobbi Adams, as well as a family nurse practitioner, Amy Severson.
Ottertail Area Medical Clinic is owned and operated by Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. The clinic is located at 232 Highway 78 North.
Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday though Friday. To schedule an appointment, call 367-OAMC (6262) or toll-free at 1-866-294-3200.
