PRCA rodeo comes to Fergus Falls Aug. 16-18

The Red Horse Ranch Arena will host the third annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association ProRodeo Aug. 16 through 18, one month earlier than last year’s event.
Organizers decided to host the event in August rather than September this year in order to attract more families and seasonal visitors.
“We want to make it a family event,” Candy Olson, event coordinator for Red Horse Ranch, said. “We thought maybe in the summertime more families would be out.”
Participants in the rodeo are professional competitors from all over the country, competing for a chance to go to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December.
Rodeo attendees don’t need to know much about the sport to enjoy it, Kristi Lausch, part of the team marketing the event, said.
“It’s just kind of a fun thing whether you’re a die hard rodeo enthusiast or you’ve never been to one,” she said, “You don’t really need to understand a rodeo to be entertained by it.”

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
