Haley Oil an Elbow Lake mainstay for 41 years

Published 12:00 p.m., August 28, 2007

Todd Haley isn’t resting on his laurels while running a business that’s been in the family since 1966. Haley Oil Company, instead, has kept up with the times while meeting customer needs and providing new products and services.

“Selling gasoline, propane and diesel fuel along with vehicle repairs and things such as towing are the main things we do,” Haley said. “Yes, we try to keep up with new technology. One example is the work we do at our three service stalls. We have alignment racks and other pieces of equipment to better serve our customers.”

Haley has five full-time employees and three part-time workers at his place of business on the north side of downtown Elbow Lake, just east of the courthouse.

As for vehicles, they have two propane trucks, one fuel truck and one roll-back wrecker.

It’s that time of year — with fall almost here followed by the winter season — when people start thinking about filling their home fuel tanks for the upcoming heating season. Haley and his employees are ready to meet their needs.

The business keeps busy all four seasons of the year.

“We sell a lot of tires ,whether it be spring, winter, summer or fall,” Haley said. “Maintenance on cars and trucks also has changed with each passing year. When my father started the business 41 years ago, few if any vehicles had air conditioning. Now, our service stalls are equipped with air conditioning equipment and other supplies for the various vehicles.”

Haley pledges to continue to add new products and services as customer needs arise in upcoming years.
