Thumper’s attractions go beyond golf course

Thumper Pond Golf Course at Ottertail is touted as "a must play in Minnesota" by Golf Magazine. Located in the heart of Minnesota's lakes country, golfers not only enjoy the challenge of the course but also the beauty in this area of Otter Tail County.
“Yes, we’re proud of our golf course at Thumper Pond,” second-year pro Jeff Olson said. “We receive rave reviews from golfers, many of whom look forward to coming back year after year.”
Now open is a new 350-yard driving range with added features such as uneven lies. The popularity of the Thumper Pond golf course is seen by the schedule of events for 2007.
They include the Aug. 12 League Championship, Aug. 19 Club Championship, Sept. 8 Roger Clarke "Drive for the Cure" tournament, Sept. 16 Couples Championship, Sept. 22 Ottertail Lions Golf Tournament, Sept. 29 Greater Ottertail Open Flyer and Oct. 20 "Haunted Otter" night golf tournament four-person night scramble.
“People coming here can choose from an exciting round of golf and do so many other things,” Thumper Pond golf pro Olson said. “People who dine in our restaurants or attend meetings often refer to what they call breathtaking views of our Thumper Pond Golf Course.”
Guests can dine in the Red Pine Restaurant, relax in the Eagle View Lounge, take advantage of the Serene Woods Spa, shop at Betty's Boutique gift shop, or stay overnight in one of the spacious suites at the Comfort Suites Hotel.
Thumper Pond can accommodate meetings, events, weddings and reunions for 300.
The complex between the east side of Otter Tail Lake and downtown Ottertail City has the perfect setting for meetings, corporate retreats, board meetings and more. The flexible meeting and banquet space can accommodate group events. Overnight accommodations, golf and entertainment can be arranged to complete one’s next event.
Thumper Pond has other banquet space available in the clubhouse and hotel for holiday parties, class reunions, dinner, anniversary parties, baby showers and more.
