Otter Tail Lake property owners meeting Saturday

Bruce Brendan, Ottertail Farm Bureau President, will be the featured speaker at the Otter Tail Lakes Property Owners Association annual meeting, beginning with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Thumper Pond in Ottertail. The meeting will follow breakfast.
Brendan has been making presentations to lake associations, COLA, Farm Bureau, East and West Soil and Water Conservation Districts and township meetings regarding his plea for support for a comprehensive land use plan for development in Otter Tail County.
He will present the need for such a plan to the Otter Tail County Commissioners June 12. At that time, he will encourage the commissioners to adopt a county-wide plan as Otter Tail County is one of seven counties in Minnesota without such a plan.
At the annual meeting, he will encourage members to support him in his plea for the county commissioners to adopt a county wide plan. The OTLPOA has written a letter in support of his petition.
For more information, Brendan may be contacted at (218) 867-2410 or kbrendan@hotmail.com. His address is 11915 360th St., Rothsay, MN 56579.
Also on the agenda, a buoy like the ones planned to mark rock piles on Otter Tail Lake will be on display, election of directors and adding addresses to the directory is scheduled.
Members will also vote whether to approve allowing the board of directors to add another director as needed.
“It would be a benefit to have more (members) if we’re trying to get clout around the lake, to have more people to speak for us,” Board Member Bernie Steeves, said at the May 24 meeting of the property owners.
The move is designed to provide increased representation as the number of properties increases, President Clara Hansen said at the same meeting.
One free breakfast is available per paid membership, with additional meals priced at $5.
