Apple Dumpling Day successful at Pioneer
Published Friday, October 26, 2007
The Pioneer Retirement Community wished to thank The Journal and Lakes Radio, especially Susan Kay, for advertising our Apple Dumpling Day event. We received generous response from the community because of your support.
Many Fergus Falls businesses provided gifts for the silent auction and other offerings. We want to thank Security Bank and American Federal Savings and Loan for displaying the lovely quilt made by Jessie Heyen and for helping to sell raffle tickets. Congratulations to Trudy Hershner who was the lucky recipient.
Thank you to all the volunteers who made the event possible and to the public who came to the event and made it a special day, not only a successful fundraiser for the auxiliary, but a wonderful opportunity for our residents to visit with family and friends.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
