Baccalaureate program May 18:

A Baccalaureate program for the Class of 2008 is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Fergus Falls Middle School auditorium for all graduating seniors in Fergus Falls. A reception will follow in the common area sponsored by the Youth Worker’s Round Table of Fergus Falls. The seniors plan the program with music, prayers and speakers.

Mills to speak at Unitarian Church:

Betty Mills, a member of the Bismarck Church and columnist for the local newspaper, will speak at the 10:30 a.m. service at the Unitarian Church in Underwood.

African meal at First Lutheran:

The Tanzania Team Youth Mission group at First Lutheran Church is planning an an African meal and auction, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, in the fellowship hall. First Lutheran has sent teams to Tanzania in 2002 and again in 2005. Team members visit African Lutherans in Tanzania, tour a girl's school, hospital, and learn about their way of life. Childcare will be provided. Tickets for the event are $7 per person and $20 per family. Funds for their trip will also be raised through a community yard sale to be held the first weekend in June.

Welcome House hosts concert:

The Welcome House will sponsor Concert for a Cause IV, with The Men of Note and the Hoffbeck family at 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

The Men of Note perform Christian hymns and gospel tunes and the Hoffbecks are a family of string musicians. An offering will be collected to help various causes. The church is located at 1150 W. Cavour Ave.

Word Alone to meet:

West Central Word Alone will meet May 3 at Our Redeemer's, Hancoc. A study of "Gnosticism", an old Christian heresy flourishing as a "new" age religion. (even promoted by Oprah). Pastor Norm Olsen will lead. Coffee 9:30.Study 10:00.
