Garage fire near Rush Lake
Published 12:00 p.m., August 21, 2008
No one was injured after a garage caught fire on the north side of Rush Lake Monday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies, Perham and Ottertail firefighters, and staff with Perham EMS responded to 45124 Plentywood Road just after 3:30 p.m., according to a sheriff’s report. Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze in a detached garage across from a home. The fire left the building, two garden tractors and a utility tractor with moderate damage.
The cause of the fire was unknown as of Tuesday morning, though authorities found an open can of paint thinner in the structure, reportedly used by the property owner the previous evening.
