What's Happening?

Published Friday, August 22, 2008

No matter your interests; this week offers a plethora of activities, either indoors or out.

Sample a variety of home brews tonight and help raise money for the historical society or hop on your bike for a 100-mile motorcycle ride. If a taste of the west is more your style, head out to Red Horse Ranch for the state finals barrel racing. Enjoy a pancake and sausage feed to benefit the Elizabeth Fire Department while you’re there, or head over to Battle Lake Sunday for a turkey feed to benefit the Battle Lake Rescue Squad.

Whatever your interests, take a look at all that’s going on this weekend and get out to enjoy some of the last days of summer.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.
