Alyssa Olson went 18 for 19 with serve receives and had 1 block and was 5 for 6 at the service line. Gwen Anderson had a solo block and 2 kills to contribute to our team effort.

“We played well for our first game. We've been working hard during pre-season on serve receive and defense and the girls performed well in those areas,” said Underwood coach Diane Ross.

WCA coach Susie Lohse said her girls hustled and played hard all night.

“They covered the court and had some excellent digs. This was the first night of playing varsity ball for all of them but one player. Now that they have this match under their belt and got the feel of what to expect at this level they will only get better with each match they play,” Lohse said.

Underwood travels to Bertha on Thursday. West Central plays Wheaton at home.
