Bridge work is taking place near Wall Lake, east of Fergus Falls, near Highway 210. Workers from Schroeder Construction include Craig Hennen, front, and Dave Hamann.
Bridge replacement on Ridgewood Circle over the Otter Tail River northwest of Wall Lake near Highway 210 continues. Robert R. Schroeder Construction of Glenwood has completed the east abutment and will complete the west abutment early next week.
“After the substructure is completed, work will began on the bridge
deck,” said County Engineer Rick West.
He summarized the Wall Lake area bridge project and reviewed other projects during Tuesday’s county commission meeting held at the Government Services Center in Fergus Falls.
County highway 82 reconstruction from Highway 59 to one mile west of Dalton is complete, with the exception of some minor erosion control repair work at Rose Lake near Interstate 94.
Paving is completed along the Highway 82 and Highway 126 overlays southeast of Dalton, with Mark Sand and Gravel doing the work. Aggregate shouldering along Highway 82 is underway.
As for County Highway 1 reconstruction from the Grant County line seven miles north, Riley Brothers finished the earthwork. The exception, said West, is some finishing and turf establishment.
“We plan to begin the gravel placement later this week,” West said. “Central Specialties plans to begin paving in mid-September.”
Highway 19 reconstruction is taking place from Bluffton, northward for two miles. Central Specialties has completed the earthwork and gravel placement. Paving should be completed in late September.
Highway 61 and Highway 132 overlays, done by Lakes Paving, will begin in late September. This work project is located east of Otter Tail Lake. The Highway 77 overlay (Lakes Paving) in Bluffton also will begin in late September.
Lakes Paving will began work on the Rush Lake Township bridge removal in early September.
