Krause honored with named scholarship for contributions to Arabian horse efforts

Published 12:00 p.m., December 11, 2008

A national scholarship has been created in the name of a Fergus Falls man who has served as the Arabian Horse Association president for the past four years.

Myron Krause, who lives with his wife in Fergus Falls, was the longest standing president of the association. He now serves on the association’s Executive Committee as Immediate Past President.

News of The Myron Krause Equine Research Scholarship was released during a November association meeting held in Denver, Colo.

The scholarship will become available in the beginning of 2009 for a student who plans to pursue a career in the equine science field, with particular emphasis on research. Krause was a long-standing chairman for the association’s Equine Stress and Research Committee.

This isn’t the first scholarship to be created by the Arabian Horse Foundation, which handles the association’s scholarship and grant matters. Every year, the Foundation dishes out $50,000 worth of scholarships and grants for horse rescue, rehoming initiatives and equine-related research.
