Otter wrestlers finish fourth in Grant County Tourney

The Otter wrestling team placed fourth at the Grant County Wrestling Tournament in Barrett Saturday, behind meet champions Jesse Laugen, Ryan Jacobson and Colton Thorson.
Laugen recieved a first-round bye in the 171 pound category, pinning WCA’s Keith Kuseske in one minute. In the semis, Laugen pinned Luke Holmquist, OTC, in 3:25. In the championship match Jesse decisioned Josh Hobbs, Alex., 7-2.
Ryan Jacobson was champion at 189, pinning Ethan Norwood, BEV, in 4:21. He decisioned Bobby Kulhanek, ML, 11-8, and in the championship match pinned Cole Christianson, BGMR in 5:39.
Colton Thorson, 215, continued to take as little time as possible to dispatch his opponents, pinning all four in a total of 4:39.
Thorson pinned Chris Haugrud, OTC, in 1:28, Brandon Nepstad, BGMR, in :32, Joe Hutt DB-LQPV, 1:53 and in the championship pinned Isaac Meyer, Alex, in :46. Colton
Thorson was the recipient of the Most Pins in Least Time Award.
Dan Revering was second in the tournament. He also pinned two of his opponents: Derek Bruseth, LPA, in 3:55 and Jon Pikop, WCA, in 5:17. In the semi’s Dan decisioned Adam Patrick, ALEX, 5-3. Trevor Ingle, BGMR, pinned Dan in the Championship match in 1:47..
Alex Hensch, 145, and Jordan Ringquist, 160, were 3rd place winners. Alex won 3 matches (2 by pin) and Jordan won four decisions as they each lost one match.
