Cast of the Home Talent play, Dalton 1911, included Bennie Johnson; Ingolf Madson; Henry Johnson, Noble Hatling; Anders Stortroen; Arthur McMillan; Guy Rustad; Herbe Larson; Bennie Berg; Julia Hatling; Martha Skrove; Ragna Stortroen; Mattie Berg; and Selma Stortroen.
Home talent plays were often used to raise money for the benefit of a local organization, school, or library.
These plays were produced in country schools, the basement of a country church, in a town hall or any other place where a group of people might gather.
The Dalton play for 1911 took place in the Modern Woodman of America Hall in Dalton.
The cast of characters were between the ages of 12 and 20 and were residents of Tumuli Township or Dalton Village.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
