Speedway open for business

Published Thursday, July 3, 2008

Speedway Bar and Grill re-opened for business last Wednesday, roughly a year and a half after closing its doors. Both the restaurant and the menu have been re-vamped by owner Curt Burdick and staff. The new menu includes new selections like pasta and seafood, as well as old favorites like ribs and steak.

Speedway is open the following hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Thursday through Saturday; 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. Sunday.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.

I think I might try Speedway again sometime. A couple of my friends are waitresses out there.

I hope they still have those great little loaves of bread.

They do have the little loaves of bread and I will say that in 4 meals ordered today during our visit everyone was happy with their food! And I will also say that we had all eaten there in the past at least 3 times each and were never satisfied.
Way to go Speedway!! Nice selection of tap beers as well.

They dont have the touch screen computers to put the orders in like before, therefore in the first few days of opening, a handful of servers can't add and overcharged people by at least $10. I do hope that things turn out better for them and won't have to close again.
