Hootenanny up and running at Fair Hills Resort
Published Saturday, July 12, 2008
"The Fair Hills Hootenanny" is being performed beginning with dinner from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the show at 8:15 p.m. every Tuesday nights through Aug. 19.
Music, comedy and food has been served and performed on Pelican Lake since 1965, the year that the famous Fair Hills Hootenanny started. It is now the longest-running summer musical show in the entire midwest.
Open to the public every Tuesday evening, an evening of gourmet food and entertainment starts with a smorgasbord, followed by the staff show. Fair Hills has been in the Kaldahl family since 1926, and has hired literally thousands of staff members from the area and from around the world.
In fact, this summer, you will find staff from as close as Hawley and Lake Park, and as far away as Turkey, Poland, the Ukraine, Peru, and Italy.
Reservations are required by calling 218-847-7638 and 218-532-2222.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
