Young boy is admirable

Daniel Bobence should have been resting easier Wednesday knowing that his hard work selling Kool-Aid paid off in raising enough money to cover the electric, gas, and water bills at his family home that were in danger of being shut off.
What he did was admirable. But being forced in the position of having to work multiple six-hour days to keep the lights on and the water flowing isn’t something a 12-year-old should have to be burdened with.
Life isn’t always fair. You can argue it hasn’t been fair to Daniel Bobence. He was left holding some cards that, in a perfect world, he maybe shouldn’t have been dealt.
But with every challenge some important life lessons are learned along the way. We’re sure young Daniel learned some important lessons this week.
The Fergus Falls community was also admirable in giving to a young boy in need. And something else good happened after money to pay the bills was collected.
Daniel was the recipient of a PlaySation2 gaming system. He will be able to plug the game into an electrical outlet powered by electricity that he helped raise the money for and do what he arguablely should have been doing all along on his summer vacation — playing like a 12-year-old boy.
Bravo, Daniel!
