Published 06:00 a.m., July 26, 2008
Former Fergus Falls resident, Janet Preus, who was active in the arts community, will present an original play during the Minnesota Fringe Festival this year.
“Snip, Snap, Snute,” got its first reading at A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, with native Dan Olson playing the lead. He will also perform the same part at the festival. Amanda Ellig, Preus’ daughter, and Berit Olson Spidahl, are also performing. Preus wrote the production and co-wrote the music with Dieter Frank, with material contributed by sister, Margi Preus.
“I'm thrilled to finally stage a show I wrote,” she said. She is also serving as the producer and director. “I have a great cast.”
“Snip, Snap Snute” will be staged at 7 p.m. Thursday; 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2; 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 and Aug. 9; and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Proscenium Stage, on the University of Minnesota Campus, 330 21st Ave. S.
The cast also includes Bruce Stasch; Johnny Charon; and Russ King from The New Congress.
Tickets available from Uptown Tix: 651-209-6799, or at the door.
