FERGUS FALLS — A five-run second inning paced Fergus Falls American Legion Post 30 to a 10-6 win and a series split over Detroit Lakes Thursday at American Legion Field in Fergus Falls.

“Detroit Lakes jumped up on us early with a couple of runs in the top of the first inning, but we came through with five of our own in the second to take control of the game,” said Coach Chris Winter.

Matt Duenow pitched a complete game, giving up four runs on four hits with four walks and seven strikeouts to improve to 2-0 on the season.

“Matt gave up one run in the third and fifth innings, but we rallied with two in the fourth inning to give Duenow a little breathing room,” Winter said.

Post 30 added three more runs in the sixth to take the 10-4 victory.
