Otter Tail Corporation, a diversified corporation with offices in Fargo and Fergus Falls, has named the following appointments.
Nancy Olson is a legal assistant to in-house counsel. She previously was a paralegal and legal secretary at the Vogel Law Firm in Fargo and also served as a deputy clerk of court in Otter Tail County. Olson received her degree from the University of Mary, Fargo campus.
Three auditors have joined the corporation's internal audit department. Kirby Thom is senior internal auditor. He worked in corporate audit roles at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Brad Weigand is an internal auditor, a role he also held at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Weigand also worked in management roles in the Fergus Falls and Fargo Wal-Marts. He received his degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Chuck Wicklund is an internal auditor and previously interned in the audit department at Otter Tail Corporation. He is a recent graduate of North Dakota State University.
Olson, Thom and Weigand are all based in the Fergus Falls office. Wicklund, a native of Fergus Falls, is in the Fargo office.
Otte joins FFMG:
Kathleen Otte joined the Fergus Falls Medical Group June 2, as the business office director.
She received her bachelor of arts degree in business from the College of St. Benedict. She has worked in healthcare for 10 years, most recently at Bethany Community in Alexandria and has experience in all areas of the business office. She lives with her family in Evansville.
Carrie Nyberg is the new business office coordinator for the Fergus Falls Medical Group. She was promoted from insurance supervisor and has worked for the Medical Group for nine years. Nyberg lives in Fergus Falls with her family.
Mullen Agency moves, adds agent:
Anne Mullen, and her daughter, Jennifer Lawrence, of Mullen Insurance Agency announce a new location at 125 N. Union Ave., in Fergus Falls.
Mullen has been a licensed agent for more than 25 years and has specialized in commercial insurance with a focus on hospitality businesses.
In addition to the new location, a new agent joined the family-owned business. He is Mullen's son-in-law, Mike Lawrence. Mike Lawrence is licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in Minnesota .

Local adoption center joins photo listing:
Permanent Family Resource Center has recently joined the national adoption photo listing service called Children Awaiting Parents (CAP) As members of CAP, the agency holds a listing book that contains photos and descriptions of hundreds of children and sibling groups that await a permanent family. This service is partially funded by the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation.
The CAP Book is available to the public at the agency headquarters at 1220 Tower Road North in Fergus Falls. Families are invited to view the book by appointment or by chance during normal business hours. Only families with an approved adoption home study may be considered to adopt a child listed in The CAP Book.

Bank president elected to board:
At the annual meeting of United Bankers' Bancorporation, Inc. held recently, James A. Espeland, president of the First National Bank in Henning, Ottertail and Battle Lake, was elected as a new board member of the Board of UBBI.
“I'm honored to be elected a board member of UBBI and United Bankers' Bank. I look forward to the coming year. It is very exciting to be a part of the new initiatives and programs developed for UBB's community bank customers,” Espeland said.
He will serve a three-year term.

Twenty-six Fergus Falls-based businesses are among those included in Gray Times, a new online directory of services for Minnesota's seniors.
A search of “Fergus Falls” at www.graytimes.com brings up over two dozen Fergus Falls organizations, including Lake Region Healthcare Corporation, Lakeland Hospice and Home Care, the Minnesota Veterans Home and Otter Tail County Veterans Services.
