Record March 6

Published Thursday, March 6, 2008

Second drug arrest in week:

Joel James McManigle, 19, and Nadean Hope Rans, 33, both of Fergus Falls, were arrested and charged with third degree possession of a controlled substance around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Search warrants were executed at a residence on the 300 block of West Douglas Avenue for evidence of fraud crimes (check forgery and identification) and narcotics. The search turned up a small amount of methamphetamine, but nothing fraud-related, Police Chief Tim Brennan said.

McManigle was arrested and charged with possession of third degree controlled substance, methamphetamine, on Feb. 27 and was out on bail.

Money taken:

Billy’s Bar and Grill, Vergas, was burglarized some time between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The pull tab booth was broken into, as was a safe containing an undisclosed amount of money. This was the only property taken. The alarm system was disabled during the burglary by cutting the phone lines, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department. The incident is under investigation.

Dog complaint results in arrest:

Around 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, Fergus Falls Police responded to a dog complaint on the 300 block of West Douglas. Officers spoke to Malinda Kay Shaw about a barking dog. Shaw was arrested later that night on a felony theft warrant out of Anoka County.

Town hall entered:

Entry was gained to the Dane Prairie Town Hall earlier this week. It was reported to the Otter tail County Sheriff’s Department around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Pry marks to the door and frame were discovered. A lock on the storage shed was broken.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that Joel got busted again.
Just goes to show, that he was just full of B.S in his little rants here on the forum!

Tough time to live on the 300 block of West Douglas Ave

I really wish that the Daily Journal would do a little more homework on these people. It's clearly not their first rodeo folks. Nadean Rans is a career criminal - take a look at www.mncriminals.com - everything from Arson to Theft to Receiving Stolen Property to Controlled Substance to Check Forgery to Fraud to Issuing Bad Checks - these are all Convictions in the past 12 years, and she is only 33. Little wonder that she goes by the name of Nadine McManigle. Both Jesse McManigle (drugs) and Joel McManigle (DUI) have priors as well. And their uncle, Mr. Buchanan? Three felony convictions and two misdemeanors since 1999, for Drug Mfg/Delivery, Assault, Damage to Property (twice), and Drugs. Malinda Shaw already has one Felony conviction for Theft in Anoka County. Fine upstanding citizens.

So does the barking dog get some kind of reward for leading authorities to the fugitive?

What other article? Or was it just a comment you read on the Jesse and Joel article? I think I am missing something.

freefalling...the other article was about Joels first arrest. He commented how he thought people were stereotyping him and ranted on about how it wasn't his fault he is an addict. Well wow he lands himself right back in the clink. What a complete idiot. Almost unbelievable. Guess this just might be a sign to someone hopefully that he needs some serious in patient help!

Just looked at the county jail website and looks as though Nadean made bail. I wonder if the Malinda down the road was her friend too. Obviously they all need to get OFF drugs. They have no idea how that would change their day to day lives and the children. I would hope she doesn't have them back right away too.

Nadean doesn't derserve that baby she's (supposely) knocked up with, Shes been smoking METH from day 1.How can she be knocked up anyway? Shes been on chemothrearpy for the last 2 years. Something doesn't add up there. Maybe it's not joey's fault he's an addict, look at the age difference between them two!! what else could she possibly giving him? Good conversation!! In some peoples eyes, she could be considered a sex offender.

Yeah I also thought she had a hysterectamy and was in chemotherapy too. I pray that she is not pregnant because looking at the county jail website she did not look too healthy.

Thank goodness that Nadine moved to Otter Tail County.
The police did a wonderul job of getting the girl who laughs in the police faces because she knows that she will be out of jail soon because of her children. "This is wrong"
Cass County did nothing for the citizens here.
We all have to live in fear that someday she will be back here at her mom's place were she lived before, with her friends and possibly burn down our homes or come and rob us or possibly even kill us.
She has two children, John is 16 and Halley is 9 years old.
They are wonderful kids too.Gos bless the two of them.

You know its so easy to sit behind a screen or even across town and shoot down and slander those only accused of crimes. I can take total comfort sitting here and talking about everyone whos posted thus far and knowing of my lack of identity that my voice is heard without risk of the fact I might have to be accountable for what I say. Just like all of you who sit and place blame and point fingers into the lives of people you wouldnt cross the street to say hi to, but would do so to avoid any interaction with. However when the tables are turned and they arent even able to defend themselves the whole community practicly starts taking thier shots. Myself I am the type where if I have a bone to pick with someone I take it to them directly. Considsering thats the only way problems get solved. Oppose to sitting at a desk picking apart problems with no answers and only ignorance and anger twords people not even in a position to be a infcluence in my daily life, my weapons. Dont the bible teach us to not judge others for we are not the ones to do so? That only the LORD may persacute those whom have sinned? Where do ANY of you justify the right to sit here and condem when in fact you should all pray for the help these people need to better their lives? Furthermore dont you people have anything better to do than belittle others? Perhaps for example worry about what you do to contribute to society rather than exploiting where others have troubles? Get lives, save a whale, hug a tree, fight for oil or something where you dont portrait your selves as total biggots. If one of you even posted your name or how you have any reason to be upset directly involved with these people I could tolerate it but to sit and annonmysly poke fun and express your "maury povich" like comments really demonstrates the mentality of the community that opposes such heathen devilry. Addiction is a disease, not a reason for pursecution from un-educated, un-involved peers.
