Host of activities planned in the upcoming weeks

Time moves along. We started this past week with Daylight Saving Time, then had some snow and now if the weather reports are accurate, we should be continuing with some very nice warm days.

Checking the calendar for next week, we have a variety of activities planned. Several of our ladies at the Center have frequently commented about having an interest in learning to play pool and that opportunity is about to happen. Diane Scott has agreed to provide two sessions in Pool 101. So circle your calendar for 10 a.m. on Mondays, March 17 and 24, for "Ladies Pool with Diane." There is no charge.

Next Tuesday, Marvin Niesche will visit our Adopt-a-Class third graders at Cleveland School. He will share some of his wood-working specialty crafts with the students at 11 a.m.

Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m., Tammy Brown, Community Representative for "Home Instead," will present a Senior Care Seminar.

This is a new service in Fergus Falls which offers a wide array of in-home services such as personal care, companionship services and home helper services. Join us and find out about all that is available.

For those of you who are due for the Driver Improvement Refresher course, you may plan on March 24 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Public Library. Register and pay the $18 fee at the Community Education office. Call 998-0544, Ext, 1600, for more informtion.

Have you noticed the telemarketers have perked up for spring with an increase of their annoying phone calls? If you are not on the "Do Not Call" list and need help registering, call the Senior Center, 736-6842, for assistance.

The Senior Center offices will be closed next Friday in observance of Good Friday. A tuna hotdish noon meal will, however, be served. Make a reservation at least a day in advance.

Best wishes from all of us at the Senior Center to all of you for a "Happy Easter."

Comments

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.
