All you gardeners keep April 5 open for a fun day. Again this year, Garden Day will be at the Underwood School, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. We will feed you well. Coffee and sweet rolls as you register.
A flower pot lunch and all the coffee and cookies you want all day.
Eric Bergeson will be our keynote speaker. He is always a hoot. Eric usually has great gardening tips and information about what plants, trees, and shrubs do well here.
As usual, we will have a gym full of vendors and several tables full of door prizes.
We will have some of your old favorite workshops: growing apples, making hypertufa troughs, ornamental grasses and growing roses. New classes are: Stonescaping, honey bees, willow basket weaving, water-smart landscaping, Bonsai in Minnesota, lawns, landscaping and lakes, succulents and mushrooms.
There are 32 presenters. Some are master gardeners, and some work at or own nurseries.
We have a couple landscapers, and people with degrees in horticulture. One speaker has a degree in plant industries, a former Peace Corps volunteer, an Urban Conservation Specialist and a couple of Extension Educators.
This gives you an idea of the wide range of instructors we have speaking.
There are three ways you can get a full Garden Day brochure. Stop by the Extension Office at 505 South Court St, Fergus Falls, or call the office at 218-998-8760 and give Jan your address and she will send you a brochure. You may also log on to the Internet: www.extension.umn.edu/county/ottertail.
Look under "Hot Topics in Otter Tail County."
The Otter Tail County Master Gardeners have been planning this day since November.
It takes that long to get everything ready for a fun
and educational day for our gardening friends.
We hope to see you at Underwood School April 5 for a day full of fun and learning.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
