Underage drinking party investigated:

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an underage drinking party that took place late Tuesday or early Wednesday along County Highway 122 between Underwood and Battle Lake.

Early Wednesday a sheriff’s department deputy, driving east along Highway 122, noticed a parked vehicle that was a traffic hazard. Upon further investigation, the deputy saw a four-wheeler with a tow strap stopped near a cabin.

The deputy knocked on the door and then saw someone inside. A short time later two males, under 21, came to the door. About seven other individuals reportedly fled the property. The two individuals who came to the door were cited for consuming alcohol under the age of 21. The citations took place about 7 a.m. Wednesday. The investigation is continuing by the sheriff’s department.

See kids, this is why you are supposed to hide your vehicles.

I came across this as I left for the cities about 1:30 Wednesday morning. There was a car parked on a tight turn, with one set of wheels over the fog line on the highway.

It struck me as odd, but it just looked to me to be some seasonal cabin owner making a springtime visit.

From what I saw, I'd venture the deputy was just going to ask them to get their car all the way off the highway.

"Can't fix stupid"...some kids never learn.

jbcp19... I think the officer was dealing with an "important problem". Cars parked on a fog line on a narrow road (and a curve in the road apparently by Blitzen) in the dark is not cool.
