PWLC hosts fishing clinic

Published Saturday, March 29, 2008

Get ready for the fishing opener as the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center welcomes Ross Hagemeister of Meister Guide Service in Ottertail to the Center’s Naturally Speaking Series on Tuesday, April 15 at 7 pm.

Ross has been a full time fishing guide in Ottertail County for 13 years, and spends between 60 and 80 hours a week on the water from mid-May through late October. Ross will cover fishing strategies for walleye as well as smallmouth bass, crappie, and sunfish.

Ross has had sponsorships provided by Lund Boats, Mercury Outboards, MinnKota Trolling Motors and Fenwick and Berkley fishing tackle. Ross strives to maintain a constant connection to the space above the surface of a lake, the water, and the fish making him an informative and entertaining speaker.

This program is free and open to the public, and no reservations are needed.

The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center is located on State Highway 210 East, south of Fergus Falls, one mile from exit 57 off I-94. For more information, call 736-0938.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.
