Comets sweep Arrows

ASHBY — Jamie Stedjan went 5-for-6 at th plate, scored five times, drove in six runs, fanned 13 and saved a game as Hillcrest swept Ashby 10-9 and 12-2.
The Comets won the opener by holding off a three-run seventh inning rally by the Arrows,
Stedjan struck out the side in the seventh in relief of Tim Erickson.
Stedjan started the second game and went the distance on the mound, fanning 13 and allowing just two hits.
Nolan Erickson went 3-for-3 in Game 2 for the Comets and drove in three runs.
Mike House went 5-for-6 for the Arrows. House stole seven bases. Brett Hanson and Kurtis Mickelson slugged back-to-back homers in the seventh.
The Comets will host a doubleheader Monday with Hancock. Game 1 begins at 4:30 p.m.

Little Falls 11, Fergus Falls 2
LITTLE FALLS — Joe Rydeen went 2-for-3 and drove in five runs as the Flyers crushed the Otters.
Ben Hanowski went 2-for-3 and hit a solo homer for Little Falls.
Derek Hansen hit a two-run homer for Fergus Falls in the first inning. Aaron Link had two of Fergus’ five hits.
Andrew Lange walked one and fanned six in picking up the victory. Jake Heck was hung with the loss.

Detroit Lakes 8-6, Perham 2-5
PERHAM — The undefeated Lakers took advantage of nine Perham errors to sweep a doubleheader.
Reid Oistad and Brock Johnson had two hits apiece as Detroit Lakes took the opener.
John Tolbert went the distance on the hill for the Lakers to gain the win. mac Stoll suffered the loss.
Marcus Hendrickson went 2-for-3 for the Yellowjackets. Jeremy Lahr had an RBI double.
No. 9 hitter Aaron Groinsky singled in Max Bentley with the wining run as the Lakers posted an eight-inning win in Game 2.
The Yellowjackets were leading 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh.
Oistad led the Lakers with two hits.
Stoll, Anthony Ruther and Ben Omberg combined for six hits and four RBIs.
Oistad gained the victory while Ruther took the loss.
“We can’t give up nine errors against a team like DL,” said Perham head coach Hans Hanson.
The Lakers are now 8-0 while the Yellowjackes are 1-3.
The Yellowjackets will travel to Moorhead Monday.

Pelican Rapids 19, Breckenridge 1
BRECKENRIDGE — Pelican Rapids’ Tyler Storrusten drove in six runs, four coming off a grand slam in the third inning, as the Vikings crushed the Cowboys in five innings.
Starting on the mound for the Vikings was Brian Guler, who also drove in three runs. Alex Johnson went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Breckenridge pitching issued 12 walks and hit four Pelican batters.
“It was kind of payback time because they beat us 10-2 the first time,” said Pelican Rapids head coach Steve Schwantz.
The Vikings, who are now 4-1 in conference play, will host Frazee Monday in a doubleheader.
