Arrows claim two from CGB

ASHBY— Danielle Holcomb picked up two victories Monday as the Ashby Arrows took both ends of a twinbill with Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 4-3 and 5-1.
The Arrows rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to win the opener. Emily Johnson singled to score Holcomb and Hayley Barry and tie the game. Johnson stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on Josie Kent’s single.
Holcomb scattered five hits while striking out six.
Amanda Johnson went 2-for-3 in the victory.
Holcomb threw six scoreless innings and fanned eight batters in Game 2.
Amanda Johnson and Gina Mickelson both came up with two hits in the nightcap.
“It was a great start to our five-game week,” said Ashby head coach Joey Andreasen.

SARTELL — Kara Fisher went 4-for-4 to lead a 17-hit attack by the Otters.
Fisher had two singles, a double and a triple. Backing her up were Erika Magnusson and Cristina Masten who both collected two hits. Magnusson homered and doubled.
Aly Erickson picked up the win.
The Otter JVs lost a 5-4 game to Willmar in nine innings.
The Otters are now 8-3 heading into a doubleheader Tuesday at St. Cloud Apollo.
Frazee 15-0, Pelican Rapids 13-11
FRAZEE — The Hornets and the Vikings split a Heart O’ Lakes Conference twinbill.
Frazee scored eight times in the fourth inning to edge the Vikes in Game 1.
Jesse Olson, Alyssa Colosky, Katie Pfeifle, Ann Ouren and Kayla Fitzgerald all came up with a pair of hits in the loss. Josey Soberg had bases-loaded triple.
Soberg was hung with the loss.
Katlin Sillerud fired a four-hitter as the Vikings dominated Game 2.
The Vikings scored five times in the first inning and added five more in the second.
Amy Field had a bases-loaded triple in the first frame. The Vikings strung together six hits in their five-run second.
The Vikings are now 2-9 heading into Tuesday’s game conference game at Hawley.
