FF track teams finish third in true team

Perham boys claim title

CROOKSTON — Chase Kolle, Cody Peck and Sarah Erickson gained individual firsts Tuesday as the Fergus Falls track teams placed third in the Section 8AA True Team meet.

Kolle was first in both of the hurdles events. His 15.77 won the 110 event and a 43.16 set the pace in the 300 hurdles. Kolle was also fourth in the triple with a 37-11 1/2.

Peck turned the 400 meter course in 53.94.

Erickson’s victory came in the 100 hurdles where she ran a 16.06 time. Erickson was third in the high jump with a 5-0 effort and third in the 300 hurdles with a 49.17.

Fergus’ 4x100 boys’ team of Josh Hofmann, Ike Carlson, Dallas Cordahl and Thomas Logan posted a winning 46.06.

Lars Ronnevik and Simon Erlandson finished second for the Otters in the discus and triple jump events. Ronnevik threw the discus 125-2 while Erlandson went 38-9 in the triple.

The Otter boys racked up 340 points. Perham won the boys’ true team title with 380.5.

Perham dominated the middle distance and distance events with 1-2 finishes in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 races.

Eddie Stenger won the 800 and 1,600 for Perham with times of 2:02.24 and 4:22.81.

Kevin Lachowitzer won the 3,200 with a 9:38.76 and took second in the 1,600 with a 4:28.08.

Tristan Covington placed second in the 800 with a 2:05.34 while Justin Tellinghuisen ran second in the 3,200 with a 10:19.15.

Perham’s 4x400 relay team edged East Grand Forks for top honors with a 3:42.32. Their 4x800 relay squad won the event with an 8:40.29.

D.J. Alstadt gave the Yellowjackets a No. 2 finish in the shot put with a toss of 41-4 1/2.

The Otter girls were second in the 4x100 relay with a 53.36, second in the 4x400 relay with a 4:21.61, third in the 4x200 with a 1:55.11 and fourth in the 4x800 with a 10:20.54.

Lizzy Link gave the Otters a runner-up time of 27.30 in the 200 dash. Karlee Kosak was fourth with a 27.88.

The Fergus girls scored 363.5 points, just two points behind runner-up Detroit Lakes.

The Perham girls placed fourth with 339 points.

Heather Schultz won the discus and shot put events with throws of 94-8 and 36-11.

Maddie McClellan won the 3,200 with a time of 11:37.84. Abby Anderson placed second in the 800 and 1,600 with times of 2:24.51 and 5:14.98.
