Arrows nip Comets 2-0

Danielle Holcomb fired a four-hitter and struck out five Friday as the Ashby Arrows posted a 2-0 fastpitch victory over Hillcrest.

Amanda Johnson drove in both runs for the Arrows who won for the eighth time and improved their Pheasant Conference mark to 6-1.

Sam Hanson scattered six hits for the Comets while fanning seven and walking one.

BARRETT — The Knights pushed four runs across in the bottom of the sixth to defeat the Vikings.

The Knights collected 13 hits off WCA hurler Josey Soberg. Taylor Brekke came up with the win.

Aly Colosky led the Vikings with two hits. Paige Sierakowski tripled for the Knights.

NEW YORK MILLS — The Bulldogs ran their record to 16-0 and 12-0 in the Conference by sweeping the Eagles.

Toni Hagen, Jen Severs and Jacquie Haarstad all had three hits in the opener and combined for four RBIs.

Carley Nelson picked up the win.

Carmen Malmstrom tossed a three-hitter as the Bulldogs blanked the Eagles 6-0 in Game 2.

Hagen went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Kelsey Koep and Lindsay Nelson also had two hits and combined for two RBIs.

PARK RAPIDS — The Panthers took both ends of a twinbill from the Yellowjackets.

Kim Brill collected two hits for Perham in Game 1 while Sara Formanek drove in two runs.

Mallory Malikowski and Kaila Formanek both had two hits for Perham in Game 2.

Malikowski was hung with both pitching losses.
