Otter relay teams shine at Quad

BRAINERD — The Fergus Falls boys and girls both chalked up victories in the 4x400 relays Tuesday at the Brainerd Quadrangular.
Cody Peck, Seth Prazak, Joel Weller and Jesse Kipp won the 4x400 with a time of 3:41.60. Brainerd was right behind with a 3:41.97.
Haylie Zenner and the Fergus Falls girls’ 4x400 relay team ran a winning 4:09.65.
Weller gave the Otters an individual victory in the 1,600 with a time of 4:53.63. Weller also placed third in the 800 with a 2:11.95.
Simon Erlandson took top honors in the long jump with a 19-11. Erlandson was third in the triple jump with a 37-8 1/2 effort.
Chase Kolle picked up a pair of thirds for the Otters. Kolle ran the 110 hurdles in 16.86 and completed the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.31.
Also recording thirds for the Otters was Preston Anderson in the discus with a 118-2 and Austin Glas in the shot put with a 40-3.
Fergus’ 4x800 relay squad finished third with a 9:13.90.
Josh Hofmann ran fourth in the100 dash with a 11.88 with Thomas Logan finishing fifth with a 11.96.
Lizzy Link set the pace for the Otter girls in the 200 dash with a winning 27.93. Link and Karlee Kosak placed third and fourth for Fergus in the 100 dash with times of 13.46 and 13.61.
Fergus Falls’ Haylie Zenner broke the one-minute mark to win the 400 dash with a 59.27.
Sarah Erickson was a runner-up finisher in the high jump by going 4-8. Erickson was third in the 100 hurdles with a 16.22.
Hannah Draxten and Sarah Lyngby gave Fergus third place honors in the 300 hurdles and 800 run with times of 53.36 and 2:40.50.
The Otters placed third in the 4x100 relay with a 53.14.
Fergus’ 4x800 relay team ran a runner-up time of 10:07.63.
Haylie and Kylie Zenner had back-to-back fifth and sixth place finished in the long jump going 14-8 and 15-0.
’Jackets win 14 events
BRECKENRIDGE —The Perham Yellowjackets won 14 events Tuesday in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference Outdoor.
Abby Anderson led the Perham girls with firsts in the 800 and 3,200 runs with times of 2:24.06 and 12:01.19.
Jake Hunter won the 110 and 300 hurdles for Perham with times of 16.22 and 43.11.
Kasey Lewis was a solo winner for Barnesville-Rothsay with a 14-11 in the long jump.
West Central Area’s Derek Bredy was a double winner in the boys’ competition with a 21-3 1/2 effort in the long jump and a 42-1 1/2 in the triple jump.
Pelican Rapids’ Lance Erickson won the shot with a 44-3 1/2.
