Otter Tail receives Blue Ribbon Award
Published Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Otter Tail County was presented the The Blue Ribbon Award recently by Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota for its work in preventing child abuse.
The Blue Ribbon Award is given annually to counties that exemplify excellence in private and public partnerships that raise awareness and prevent child abuse and neglect in their communities. This is the first year that Otter Tail County has received the Blue Ribbon Award.
Through partnerships between County Human Services (and CPS), Public Health, Mental Health, Someplace Safe, Parents Forever, ECFE, and law enforcement Otter Tail has been able to reach out to more parents in need than ever before. For the past several years, Otter Tail County has also participated in the Radiothon to End Child Abuse. Accepting the award for Otter Tail County is Brad Vold and Kay Brown.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
