Stier taking soccer skills to University of Mary

Fergus Falls soccer standout Chris Stier will be joining the University of Mary this fall after signing a letter of intent and receiving a full scholarship.
Stier played four seasons for the Fergus Falls boys’ soccer team.
“He made an impact from the moment he stepped on the varsity field,” said Fergus Falls boys’ soccer coach Ben Jurgens.
Stier closed out his high school career with 36 points — scoring 23 goals and contributing 13 assists.
Stier had 12 goals and three assists for the Otters last fall. The Otters posted a 12-5-3 record and reached the Section 8AA semifinals.
“Chris’ talent and skill comes from hours of practice on his own,” said Jurgens. “He loves the game so it isn’t an inconvenience for him to work on an aspect of the game he feels he needs to improve on. His passion for the game showed in practice as much as games. He hated losing one-on-on battles with his teammates.”
The University of Mary Marauders, who finished 4-13-1 last year, play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The University of Mary is located in Bismarck, N.D.
