Otters finish third
Published 01:53 a.m., May 16, 2008
DETROIT LAKES— The Otter boys golf placed third overall in the Detroit Lakes Invitational with a 313.
Detroit Lakes won the event scoring 293, and Moorhead placed second putting up a score of 306.
The top scores for the Otters were put up by the Gervais brothers. Lucas shot a 77 while Trevor shot a 78. Mike Tuel, Allen Sellner, and Derek Smith all shot a solid 79. Rounding out the score card was Nick Risbrudt with an 81.
The medalist was Ryan Kuehne of Detroit Lakes with a 70.
“We continued to show our depth today by having five guys in the 70’s,” said Fergus coach Ben Jurgens. “This was a solid tournament for the boys to play in as we played with both Moorhead and Detroit Lakes which allows us to see what we have to do late in the year to prepare for sections.”
