Spuds down Otters 7-4

The Moorhead Spuds pushed three runs across in the top of the sixth inning Friday to defeat the Fergus Falls Otters 7-4 at Legion Field.
Scott Petry doubled, scored a run and drove in one for the Spuds, who improved to 5-2.
Andrew Anderson led the Otters with a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate. Anderson doubled and scored once. Matt Hanson had a clutch two-run double in the fourth which tied the game at 4-all.
Casey Smith went the distance for Moorhead giving up two walks and nine hits while fanning one.
Nick Johnson pitched the first 6 2/3 inning for Fergus Falls. Johnson struck out six and walked only two but hit three batters. Matt Duenow came on in relief.
Following a 10 a.m. date with Staples-Motley Saturday the Otters will travel to Alexandria Tuesday.

Pelican Rapids 7, Park Rapids 6
PELICAN RAPIDS — Andrew Sorum poked a two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth to lift the Vikings over the Panthers.
The Vikes surrendered four home runs in their one-run victory,
“To give up four home runs and get the victory is pretty good,” said Pelican Rapids head coach Steve Schwantz.
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Tom Juberian hit the first of his two home runs. Zach Lehrke followed with a solo shot.
Juberian was a thorn in Pelican’s side with three hits in four trips. He also scored twice and drove in three runs. His two-run shot in the top of the sixth put the Panthers on top 6-5.
Andrew Skow-Anderson delivered a solo shot in Pelican’s four-run fourth inning.
Pelican’s Brian Guler was 2-for-4 in the victory.
Eric Shulstad picked up the victory with a save going to Guler.
The Vikes, who are now 11-3, will host Wadena-Deer Creek Monday. The Vikings are slated to play five games next week.

ORTONVILLE — Tyson Langlie and Mike House both collected five hits as the Arrows
won a slugfest with the Trojans.
Langlie drove in six runs, scored five and collected the game’s only home run. House drove in four runs.
Jordan Lillemon went 3-for-3 and walked three times. Kurt Mickelson drove in three runs along with Drew Hanson. Hanson, Tim Evavold and Collin Ruter all scored three runs.
The Arrows broke the game open with a 10-run sixth inning.
Langlie picked up the win. The Arrows, now 5-10, travel to New York Mills Monday.
