VanWechel qualifies for Division II national meet in California

MOORHEAD — MSU-Moorhead will dispatch five athletes to the 2008 NCAA Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 22-24 at Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.

The Dragon delegation will include freshman Anna VanWechel (Fergus Falls), 3000 run; senior Derik Brugger (Dickinson, N.D.), men’s pole vault; junior Jennifer Hensel (Frazee), women’s pole vault; junior Sara Julsrud (Grand Forks, N.D.), 400 intermediate hurdles and junior Ashley Roemer (Maple Lake), high jump and heptathlon.
