‘Fueled by Rice’ at Senior Center
Published 12:00 p.m., November 11, 2008
A group of recent grads from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University who set off for Asia looking for adventure will speak at the Fergus Falls Senior Center on Friday, Nov. 14.
Led by Fergus Falls resident Andrew Spidahl, the group left last September for Bejing and began a biking a trek across Asia.
The group will share their story of crossing the Eurasian continent and arriving in Paris just a month later.
Along the way they biked through rural areas and played music in villages. We saw that the people in these areas have a lot to teach us, and that this style of bike trip provides ample opportunity for spreading international good will on the local level. Now back in Minnesota, the group plans to record an album and share the stories of their journey.
They will speak from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. Attending will be Spidahl, Peter Ehresmann of Plymouth, Nakia Pearson of the Bahamas, and Jim Durham of Livingston, Mont.
