Comedic women to be ‘out all night’ in FF

A group of touring female comedians will make a stop in Fergus Falls Oct. 10 as part of their Women Out All Night stand up comedy Show.

Comedian and show producer, Rox Tarrant, will lead the pack, along with Darlene Westgor, winner of the Nick @ Nite’s Funniest Mom in America show.

“Darlene is kind of the edgy soccer mom gone bad,” Tarrant said.

Also set to take stage is Elle K, a finalist in the Twin Cities Funniest Person contest, and Mary Kelly, who has worked in the comedy business for the past fifteen years.

For the past 12 years, Tarrant has taken her show on the road. Every year, the line-up varies a bit, but Tarrant says one things remains the same: It’s always funny.

Tarrant started her own comedy career as a rookie in the Funniest Person in the Twin Cities competition, which pitted her against 200 seasoned comedians. As it turns out, experience didn’t mean everything — she took third place.

Why Fergus Falls? Well, she did hear a rumor that Fergus Falls residents had a good sense of humor. But that wasn’t the only factor. Tarrant, an Alexandria native, appreciates small city living and wanted to bring the big names to the more rural areas.

And although the show is put on by an all woman cast, Tarrant said the content is geared towards both men and women.

“It’s not just a show for women, it’s a show for people who love women and want to come and enjoy comedy and a good night of entertainment,” Tarrant said.

The theme of the show isn’t dirty or raunchy, Tarrant said, but it definitely has an adult theme.

“It’s an adult comedy in good taste and very, very funny,” Tarrant said.

Like any other stand-up comedy show, audience members are expected to take in the jokes with stride and not too much seriousness. Being offended is all part of the experience.

The show is set to take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Bigwood Event Center in Fergus Falls. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door.
