Hillcrest boys advance in playoffs

The Hillcrest Boys Soccer team kicked their way into the Section 8A Semi-Finals Saturday, beating Crookston 2-1.
“We played real agressive the first 30 minutes of the game,” said Comet head coach Rod Jensen. “Our guys have been a little sick and a little tired. We have three starters who haven’t played the last three games, so we’ve been relying on some jv guys, who have done well.”
The Comets jumped on the board early, scoring in the first two minutes of the contest on an Andreas Saevig goal off a centering pass by Richie Martinson.
Sylvester Martinez scored again at 15 minutes, off a blast from the left side, assisted by Kristoffer Nillsen.
Crookston brought to the game to within one, 23 minutes into the second half, getting the ball behind the Comet Midfield and attacking up the middle.
“The wind came up in the second half, helping them out,” Jensen said. “We were able to hold in there. As for the sick players, we have to get them on more Juice Plus. We need those guys back for a deeper bench. Crookston is a tough team, and this was a good win for us.”
The Comets will play St. Johns Prep in the semifinals at Hillcrest on Tuesday.

Where is the Article for the Girls Soccer Team!! How did they do!! Did they beat EGF!! I don't think they have beat them in quite awhile.
