What is this?
Franken will govern with best interests at heart
Published 12:00 p.m., October 15, 2008
Al Franken is an eloquent man. He is especially passionate about his family; and his passion extends to our troops, our veterans, and the problems facing our country.
Born and raised a Mmnesotan, Al grew up in a middle class family; his wife, Franni, did not. When one hears Al tell Franni's story, his compassion, empathy, and pride, is heard in his voice, and it is touching.
When Al Franken speaks, he is serious, humble, discerning, and intelligent. He talks about issues in which he believes. He believes that we should bring our troops home responsibly from Iraq, and that we must support them with dignity and the well-funded benefits they deserve.
He believes that No Child Left Behind should be over-hauled, that we should fully fund Special Education, and increase Pell Grants for higher education. He believes in providing tax relief for the middle class, and promoting rights for workers. And he believes that we must work towards building an economy based on renewable energy.
As Al Franken gives speeches in large communities and small — when he is heard, his message resonates. He converses about our fears, and our hope in the future.
When he speaks, his ideas linger, and one is left to admire his wit, intellect, and concise articulation regarding our interests and concerns.
Think about the big picture. Think about whether life is better for all of us now, than it was eight years ago. On the economy, tax relief for the middle class, the environment, education, labor, military rights, and renewable energy — when you think about everyday bread-and-butter issues — have your Interests been represented? Al Franken will govern with our best interests at heart. Is that what you want when you send your representative to Washington? It's what I want.
Think about it.

It's funny, when someone writes good things about the democrats or attacks Republicans running for office nobody comments. But, when someone attacks a democrat or says something good about a Republican, the democrats come out in force to attack the writer. Actually it's not funny, it's sad that the democrats are so angry all the time. What is funny is how they can twist things around to fit their warped views.

Democrats are warped simply because they have a different view from yours? Seems to me the republicans are the ones always angry and your blog proves it.

I'm not sure how I feel about Franken. I'll probably vote for him. To me, he's basically the best of the three that are being offered. Coleman is more the same and I disagree with much of what he has endorsed over these past years. Barkley has not given us anything concrete about what he wants to do. He basically just tells us what's wrong with what the other two are proposing. Honestly, I'd be much more excited if Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer were the candidate instead.

Terry apparently has been living under rock the last 8 years! You just keep telling yourself, were fine under this great republican leadership! We need more republicans to keep the status quo. I just wonder just how much more it would take, before these Limbough heads get it!

status quo?,
if only the Republicans were merciful enough to had maintained the status quo.
the deficit clock was taken down again.
this time it's because it wasn't able to display enough digits anymore.
we had a surplus when the GOP took over, and now sudden;t gas prices are dropping right before the election just like 4 years ago.
what a sham!
I'm not complaining about a more reasonable gas price, I'm just offended that we have been robbed for the past 7.5 years!
every household in this country owes over $500,000.00 currently on the national debt.
we have reached 96% devaluation on the dollar since fractional economics began.
when we reach 100% there will be no value at all left.
printing more money is not the answer.
brag up your cruises while you can Jerry and capitalist,
your way of life is going change very soon!
all of ours is!
way to go Bush-ites! at least you got Hussein for not making WMD's.
whoopee!
the DJ blog software thought "Bush-ites" was a swear. LOL
in the future "Bush" will be.

Franken is not my ideal candidate, but he has a good heart and I agree with his stances on the issues.

Of the three, Franken will get my vote as well. The only negative thing tied to him (by opponents) is his SNL Humor, Coleman on the other hand, thinks Bush was a great leader and indeed, followed in his footsteps! Now that's laughable.

Terry,
In response to your earlier comment, I think most people tend not to comment on letters praising democrats or attacking republicans because most people tend to agree with such letters. It's much easier to comment on something when you are upset by it. Also, I think it's plain to see here that democrats are not in fact "angry all the time." But I think it is the case that when we are angry, we tend to say something about it.

It's a good thing there's so many republicans and democrats on these boards. Otherwise, we'd have nothing to talk about. I hope Al Franken wins. I'd enjoy watching his comics on the floor of the US Senate. It'd be a real hoot!

Can someone please explain to me what exactly Norm Coleman has done for Minnesotans?
He said the following last night. "We have real problems out there, real challenges," Norm Coleman said. "In the end it's about who can work out there and who can solve it."
So just what exactly has Norm done for Minnesota??
I don't think any of us asked for triple the price of gas, 80% increases in our health care premiums, or 20% decreases in our home values, or 6.2% unemployment in Minnesota, or $700 billion of our tax paying dollars going to Iraq, or another $700 billion dollars of our tax paying dollars going to Wall Street.
No I am certainly not going to reward Norm Coleman for this horrendous performance. Al has some good ideas for changing the course of this country and getting Minnesota back on track to bringing more jobs to our state and stopping the redistribution of wealth FROM the middle class into the pockets of the top 2%.

Even Republicans are crying "throw the bums out". When Terry writes that democrats are angry, no, I don't think so. We are ALL angry. Throw the bums out!
Go Al. Go Greg. Go Barrack.
