Peter Everts assists customers with their painting needs at Everts Lumber in Battle Lake.
As the sign indicates, Everts in Battle Lake is more than just a supplier of lumber. The fourth-generation business also provides products and services for painting, plumbing, hardware, electrical and much more.
The business is owned and operated by brothers Peter and John Everts and is in its 126th year as a family owned business.
“Our family has been fortunate to live and work here — at Battle Lake in the lakes region of Otter Tail County,” Peter Everts said Thursday, Aug. 28. “We strive to provide friendly service and great products.”
In addition to the aforementioned goods and services, Everts Lumber also offers a full line of builders' hardware, tools, landscaping materials, retaining wall products, dock systems, drafting and design services for new construction and remodeling and other services.
Customers can access Everts Lumber’s user-friendly Web site www.evertslumber.doitbest.com, to see what products are available. As an example, when a person clicks on the Paint & Supplies box, customers can find what supplies are available, look over the various brands and check out prices.
Under the paint supplies section, Everts has everything from Cabot's and Benjamin Moore paints and stains to primers, scrapers, wood protector and sealer products. Other brands include Do It Best Paint, Krylon, Henkeer Consumer Adhesives and more.
There’s even a specialty shop web section that includes gifts for backyard enthusiasts, a dollar shop and others.
After clicking on Home Accents, customers will find information about chairs and step stools, floor mats and runners, wall hangings, weather instruments and more. Brands include Sunnywood Production Blkyth Home Scents, Cosco Home and Office and more.
“Like other small-town lumber yards, we’re dedicated to being a low cost provider of lumber and materials to builders, remodelers and dedicated do-it-yourselfers,” Everts said. “At the same time, we want to add value to our various products through trained, knowledgeable and motivated employees.”
Everts has 10 employees during the summer months and seven employees during the winter. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
