What is this?
Underwood golf tourney a success
Published 03:27 p.m., September 4, 2008
The Underwood Education/Community Foundation enjoyed its second annual golf scramble in conjunction with the Underwood Harvest Festival.
Sixty-eight golfers took part in the event which ended in an exciting playoff finish. The team of Doug and Ed Holen, Derrick Nelson, and Sam Hoekstra edged the Sverdrup Mutual Insurance team of Bricker Johnsen, Steve Thompson, Pete Darchuk, and Brady Roissum in a one-hole playoff after both finished with a 5-under 30.
Contests winners included John Hamann (putting contest), Ed Holen (water chip contest), Jenny Roissum (closest to pin), Bonnie Mark (straight drive), Tyson Abbot and Katrina Wass (longest drives) and Steffan Stroh (longest putt)
With great support from our sponsors we were able to add nearly $4,000 to help with our school and community projects.
