Ashby proved to be too much for Hillcrest on the volleyball court Thursday night.

The Arrows, led by Seniors Alisha Sethre and Emily Johnson, left town with a 3-0 victory over the Comets with game scores of 25-9. 25-16, and 25-12.

Sethre serving got the Arrows off to a fast start in game one; at one point serving 14 straight points. The Seniors solid play continued in game two and three. She finished her night going 25/26 from the service line and added 9 kills and 9 digs.

Teammate Emily Johnson added 11 points, 18 assists, and 7 digs for the Arrows.

Ashby Head Coach Brenda Johnson said, “I thought our hitters mixed up their shots well,” but added, “We still need to work on our consistency for a whole match.”

The Arrows will travel to Wheaton for a tournament on Saturday. The Comets will host Chokio-Alberta/Herman-Norcross on Monday.

Hawley 3, Barnesville1:

The Barnesville volleyball team was defeated by the visiting Hawley Nuggets Thursday, 3-1.

Hawley won the first game, 25-10. The Trojans battled back in the second game, winning 25-20.

The Nuggets won the next two, 25-23 and 25-16.
