End-of-summer blues bash hits Barrett

Published Saturday, September 6, 2008

Good Clean Fun Productions is bringing an end-of-summer Blues Bash to the historic Barrett Pavilion from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. In its first show in the area, The Teddy Larson Band will be performing.

Ted started out in Fargo in the 1980s with the “Bad Medicine Blues Band.” They later added a “kid” to the band that Ted had been tutoring on guitar and changed their name to “Kid Jonny Lang and The Big Bang.”

In endless interviews and articles, Jonny Lang credits Ted as being the one who taught him how to play the guitar. Ted played on a couple of cuts on Jonny’s 1997 platinum album, “Lie To Me,” as well as their original release, “Smokin.”

After leaving Jonny Lang, Ted joined the popular “Lamont Cranston Band” and appeared on their 1997 release, “Roll With Me.”

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.
