Hanstad gets 1 day for interference
Published Friday, September 12, 2008
A 25-year-old Elizabeth man will serve a day in jail for interfering with an emergency call.
Domestic abuse charges were dropped against Dustin Hanstad, 15355 County 10, Elizabeth, who was sentenced to a 119-day stayed sentence with credit for one day served for an incident in Erhard on the 4th of July.
Court records state Hanstad had been drinking, turned violent, and threatened family members. When someone made an attempt to call 911 for help, Hanstad took a cellphone from the caller, causing it to break into pieces.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Posted by just_me (anonymous) on September 13, 2008 at 11:11 a.m. (Suggest removal)
