Underwood loses in double OT

Not only did Underwood lose a heartbreaker in double overtime, they also lost RB Todd Skauge with a broken arm.

Underwood drew first-blood on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Dylan Meyer to Cody Nordick (kick good).

Eagle Valley also scored a TD in the first, but missed the extra-point attempt. The Rebels’ took the lead 14-7 before halftime on a TD and 2-pt conversion.

In the 3rd quarter, Dylan Meyer scored on a 55-yard option run (2-pt conv). Meyer hooked up with Nordick a second time on a 56-yard TD later in the third.

EV scored 14 points in the 3rd and held 28-22 lead until late in the 4th.

With 40 seconds remaining, Wesley Green scored on a 4 yard run to tie the game. EV blocked the extra-point attempt to force overtime.

In the second overtime, on 4th down from the 10 yard line, the Rebels’ threw a TD pass to secure the 36-28 win.

Senior runningback Todd Skauge had 13 rushing attempts for 59 yards before leaving the game with a broken arm.

Underwood will play at home against Ashby next Friday.
