Underwood too much for Rothsay
Published Tuesday, September 23, 2008
The Underwood Volleyball team got back on the winning track Tuesday, winning three straight against Rothsay, 25-22, 25-23, and 25-11.
“The first two games were very close,” said Rocket coach Diane Ross. “Rothsay did a good job of picking up our quick attack. I give a lot of credit to our defense at the end of the games for not giving up on the ball and making good plays.”
In game two, with the score 22-23 in Rothsay's favor, Ellen Ferry delivered three kills in a row to give the Rockets the victory.
Outside hitter Samantha Huseth led the way for the Rockets, going 19 for 19 at the service line, with four aces, six kills and nine digs.
Alex Floersch was 17-19 serving, with two aces and 11 digs. Ariana Odegard led the Rockets with 23 assists, went 11-11 serving and had one ace, three ace blocks and eight digs.
Underwood’s season record now stands at 10-3, 4-1 in the Little Eight Conference. The Rockets host Parkers Prairie on Thursday.
