Whether you’re the cowboy — or girl — type or not, the PRCA Rodeo at the Red Horse Ranch is the place to be this weekend. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday for food and concessions, with rodeo events kicking off at 8 p.m.
Vining will be celebrating its annual Watermelon Days Saturday, with plenty of activities planned, including a 5/10 K run, a parade and plenty of fresh watermelon on hand.
If you’re looking for deals around town, the city-wide rummage sales will be held at over 46 locations. A rummage sale benefiting the Lakeland Hospice House will be held both Friday and Saturday at 225 W. Everett
Friday, August 14
- City-wide rummage sales will be held at over 46 locations throughout the area
- The Fifth Annual Red Horse Ranch PRCA Rodeo will begin at 8 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with food and concessions. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6-12 and free for those five and under
- An open house picnic will be held for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free BBQs
- A rummage sale for the Lakeland Hospice House will be held at 225 W. Everett. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Quilts of Valor Sewing Day will be held at the WestRidge Mall
Saturday, August 15
- City-wide rummage sales will be held at over 46 locations

- The 37th Annual Vining Watermelon Days will be held downtown Vining, beginning with a 8 a.m. 5/10 K run/walk. Registration for runs begins at 7 a.m. Registration is $20. Watermelon Days also feature arts and crafts, a petting zoo, bingo, kids games, food and a 7 p.m. parade
n A rummage sale for the Lakeland Hospice House will be held at 225 W. Everett. 8 a.m. to noon
n Monarch Mania will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center
n A Center for the Arts is showing the film “Every Little Step” at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
n The WestRidge Mall is holding a farmer’s market in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
n Productive Alternatives 3rd Annual Men’s Softball and Women’s Sand Volleyball Tourney will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Parkers Prairie City Park Softball Field
