Michael R. Smith, Ltd. and staff earned a successful peer review as conducted by an independent CPA firm.
Michael R. Smith, Ltd announced today that it has successfully completed a peer review of its accounting practice.
Michael R. Smith, Ltd participates in the AICPA Peer Review Program, one of the AICPA-approved practice monitoring programs.
A firm participating in any of these programs must have an independent review of its accounting practice every three years.
The review was conducted by another independent CPA firm, qualified under program requirements established by the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants following standards issued by the AICPA.
The objective of the peer review consists of reading financial statements issued by the firm for the purpose of considering whether they appear to be in conformity with professional standards.
The reviewer’s unmodified report indicates that nothing came to their attention that caused them to believe that the reports issued by Michael R. Smith, Ltd for the year ended June 30, 2008, did not comply with the requirements of professional standards in all material respects.
Michael R. Smith, Ltd has been serving businesses and individuals throughout the Fergus Falls and surrounding areas since 1988.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.Post a comment
